Yup, I do find the strong citronella scent...well...repelling! hehe...I could try the other options you presented...wow, a lavender scent would be good. I'll try the patches too. thanks :)

I never applied mosquito repellents on my baby. My best solution - mosquito nets! But thanks for posting this up. I am an OFF person but I'll see if it contains DEET...

I recommend bgone lotion.
1.it is non-sticky
2.the smell is not overpowering, it actually has a very pleasant scent. it has neem, andiroba, and citronella all in one.
3.It is marketed as a lotion, oil based repellant turns me off.
4.It is organic and made by a local company that has an advocacy in using everything organic.
5. It can reapplied every hour without fear of causing disorders because of the absence of DEET.
6. It lasts from 4 - 10 hours.
7.It's cheap too! the lotion pump of bgone comes out as P1.94 per ml compared to the Off lotions' P1.39 per ml.

I bought these and use it for my baby. They have a liquid concentrate with its versatile functions that I use to fumigate the house safely. 1 part to 10 parts water, not bad in the savings department.

I got these as I made research on available insect repellant products on the net. My criteria were::
a. safe and non-toxic for babies
b. natural ingredients
c. non-greasy (don't you get tired of the oily stuff when it comes to natural)
d. pleasant smell (citronella alone is too strong)
e. economical or affordable at least.
f. lasts long
g. locally made (we know imported means expensive)

So I found this product. and I'm recommending it!
You can ask me how to get hold of these products through my email mjcatipon@yahoo.com
