Pureglow Emu Mineral Lip Butter Tints – a review

March 23rd, 2010 by hbgeek | 1 Comment | Filed in Beauty product reviews, make-up

Venus and Mars has come a long way from just selling emu oil-based soaps, they now have emu-oil based cosmetics and a mineral make-up line called Pureglow. I’m a fan of their Emu Lip Detox, a lip balm that does not contain petroleum jelly, but still keeps my dry lips moisturized throughout the day. Venus and Mars’s sister site, Pureglow, made the Lip Detox even better with Emu Mineral Lip Butter Tints.

G-lish Duo Foundation – a review

March 18th, 2010 by hbgeek | 2 Comments | Filed in Beauty product reviews, make-up

I’m a low-maintenance gal, I just use baby powder on my face and I’m fine. But whenever I’m on a rush in the morning for work, I don’t have time to allow my sunblock to set and to dry for additional minutes that’s why I apply baby powder after. This causes some powder to clump in some areas, unsightly and very childish. So I decided to buy a powder foundation I can use this summer. I previously used Neutrogena powder foundation but I want to try other more affordable brands.

G-lish has stalls in malls and their very pretty and girly kiosks made me check out their products. They have Duo Foundation in a very sleek all-white compact, reminds me of VMV packaging. It’s also very slim, perfect to slip in a girl’s small bag. The sales attendant said that when it’s time to buy the refill, they will replace the whole compact with a new one, just bring the old compact too. Pretty neat especially that the compact is white and it will really get dirty over time.

I got the Duo Foundation in Shade #10 for Php 300. The G-lish Duo Foundation claims to have SPF and oil control.

Etude House Lippies review

March 14th, 2010 by hbgeek | 1 Comment | Filed in Beauty product reviews, make-up

On my first Etude House visit, much of my haul are lip products. I don’t wear make-up, just powder, cheek tint and lipstick/lip balm and I’m set. I use mascara and eyeliner sometimes but no eye make-up for me. Anyway, let me review the lip products I bought from Etude House, Code B Dear Darling Ultra Firming Lips, Plumping Lip Tint, Apricot Stick and Dear Darling Lip Tint.

Loreal Infallible Lip Duo Compact: testing

March 3rd, 2010 by hbgeek | 2 Comments | Filed in Beauty products, make-up

I discovered Loreal Infallible Lip Duo Compact accidentally at Watsons, I was actually looking for Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick because that’s the one I saw from magazine ads.

Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick

Since there’s no SA at Revlon, I wasn’t able to inquire about their testers, the SA from Loreal suddenly offered their own version, Loreal Infallible Lip Duo Compact. If Revlon lasts for 12 hours, the Infallible Lipstick lasts for 16 hours, beat that!

Styli-Style Flat Liner 24 – a review

February 20th, 2010 by hbgeek | 3 Comments | Filed in Beauty product reviews, make-up

I’m on a shopping binge lately for health and beauty products, perhaps too much reading the Girltalk forum is BI =). One of the raves is Styli-Style products especially the eyeliners. The girls are raving about it partly because there’s an Ebay seller that sells them dirt-cheap, Styli-Style Flat Liners are Php 75 each!!! Beauty Bar sells these at approximately Php 400. So who’s that Ebay seller?… just search jnlink777.

For being such a make-up noob, I had to search first what is Styli-Style…

Etude House haul

January 14th, 2010 by hbgeek | 43 Comments | Filed in Beauty products, make-up

Etude House opened its first branch in the Philippines at SM Megamall Bldg. A. Korean beauty product fanatics trooped to Megamall since its first opening day. Megamall is too far from my place that’s why I only get to visit the store last Saturday. Finding the store is easy, it’s located at the ground floor near Toy Kingdom. The moment I entered the store, I was awed, it’s like entering a princess’ bedroom, with insanely pink and blue interiors and girly ornaments and decorations. A princess indeed, upon entering the store, I was greeted by sales assistants clad in their pink/white uniforms with “Hello princess!”.
