October 29th, 2010Beauty product reviews, Skin careAny Filipino teenager has been familiar and used any Ponds product at some point in their lives. It became a household name for beauty products, it’s a drugstore brand, it’s cheap and it delivers. But as years go by, we found and used other products, some are even expensive than Ponds. In the recent years, Ponds has evolved and from one variant, it released new range of products that cater to everyone’s special needs.
A recent TV commercial from Ponds shows the Ponds Pure White Deep Cleansing Foam with Activated Carbon. Activated carbon promises to remove deep-seated dirt and detoxify the skin from impurities. I wasn’t sold at the TV commercial but when I saw this product in the grocery with its sleek black packaging, I snagged a tube, yeah packaging counts!

September 3rd, 2010Beauty product reviews, Go Organic, Skin careAs an expecting mom, I’m wary of not only what I eat but also on what I put on my skin. There are a lot of discussions on beauty products safe for pregnant women, some products to avoid are those containing salicylic acid, retinoids, atni-aging products, hair depilatories and hair dyes. Good thing products I’m using are mostly organic and natural, and now, I’m trying out other variants of Cyleina Organic Soaps that have more moisturizing properties to keep stretchmarks at bay.

May 15th, 2010Skin careI’m blessed with clear skin even on my puberty days, on my face that is. But as the cliche goes, nobody’s perfect and so is my skin. I had back acne or bacne since high school days. Hence, wearing backless gowns during prom nights is a no-no for me because I’m too conscious with the pimple marks at my back. Years passed and I just carried on with wearing clothes hiding my back, even my swimsuits must be closed at the back part.
how to treat back acne/bacne
Few years ago, I tried several options on how to treat back acne or bacne. I read that scrubbing and exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and oil build-up at the back. Well, I always use a sponge lily or a loofah when I take a bath so exfoliating is really part of my regimen. I listed other things on how I tackled my bacne problem.

April 8th, 2010Beauty product reviews, Go Organic, Skin careI ordered Venus and Mars Lulur soap together with the Emu Mineral Lip Butter Tints. I’ve been wanting to try this soap ever since it was first launched in VnM’s Multiply shop but I find it impractical to order only just one soap. Fortunately, I was able to try this soap last month.

March 21st, 2010Beauty products, Skin careI’m on an anything-beauty-related-buying-mode lately, blame it to Etude House hehe. I don’t hoard make-ups though, more on skin care like facial masks, organic soaps, BB creams, hair products and also perfumes and fragrances. A recent visit to Watsons at Mall of Asia made me discover that there are already a lot of facial masks available, mostly made from Korea, this is facial lovin’.
The most talked about brand in Femalenetwork.com is Purederm so I looked for the Strawberry Yogurt Pack, unfortunately they don’t have stocks. I decided to sample other sheet masks and wash-off masks also from Purederm.
1. Lavender Collagen Mask, Olive Collagen Mask, Green Tea Collagen Mask – Php 49.75

February 17th, 2010Salon Treatments and Pampering, Skin careDon’t you just love facials? Count me in, 2 years ago, I was plagued with severe acne because of allergic reactions but good thing, a few trips to Dermclinic cleared my skin. Facials from Dermclinic involves pricking which I always wanted to skip. i just love the massage and masks part during facials. Beauty & Butter heard my plea when I had my facial at their Megamall branch.

September 30th, 2009Beauty products, Skin careWith so many BB creams (Blemish Balm creams) out there, it’s difficult to choose the right BB cream that’s perfect for your skin and needs. I ordered different BB cream samples too but like many other BB cream fanatics, I have yet to try other brands to see what’s best for my skin. In Korea, consumers are lucky because Korean stores are generous on giving samples so they don’t have to spend in trying out products. Here in the Philippines, those samples are sell for Php 50-Php 200 pesos but it’s better than buying the whole tube which costs a little over a thousand. My fave seller of BB creams from Multiply, Trinketi, made a chart that can help you choose the BB cream that’s right for your skin. It’s very helpful that I have to ask permission from her to repost this in my blog. Please click the photos for larger view.

August 11th, 2009Beauty product reviews, Go Organic, Skin careCyleina Organic Soaps has been popular in many online forums like Girltalk and Teentalk for almost 2 years now. The soaps are lovingly handmade and uses organic ingredients and pure essential oils to make the skin soft and moisturized. Perhaps, the reasons why Cyleina Organic Soaps are popular is because it’s affordable and effective. I tried other organic soap brands that are priced at Php 100 or more, but after a few uses, I can’t finish the whole bar because it already melted on my soapdish. With Cyleina, I can still use the soap and gives enough lather even until it’s just the size of a pea. There are so many varieties to choose from so it’s unlikely for you not to find one that suits your skin best. For only Php 60 per bar, you can try them all until you find the best soaps for you.
Let me share my fave variants of Cyleina Organic Soaps:
